Director of Coaching and Director of Academy:

Marco Lopez began his soccer career at the age of seven playing in Matamoros, Mexico and Harlingen, Texas. On Saturdays, he played in Harlingen, and on Sundays, his dad would take him to play for his two teams in Matamoros. After the Sunday games, they would go to the same fruit market and eat mangos under the same tree nearby every week for years. Here Marco and his father talked about the games and made it an all day event. Creating such fond childhood memories for other children through soccer has driven Marco to help bring the Padre Academy to the level that it is today. His training style is designed to develop a passion and respect for the game by teaching creative and fundamental technical skills.
Marco has trained boys and girls for the past eleven years as a contracted personal and team trainer. He has trained players of all different levels, from college preparatory showcase teams, to his sons’ U5 teams. Marco has worked hard to establish his methods of developing young soccer players with the ability to excel under all playing styles and conditions.
His responsibilities as the Director of Coaching helps him provide Padre players with these skills that can help kids feel successful on and off the field. As the Director of the Padre Academy, Marco believes the Academy method of developing kid's soccer skills is a proven system around the world because it ensures each player receives certified training that propels them as they peak at different stages.
